In the early 20th century, wine transport was in full swing in the Gironde region. The sailing ships that transported salt often encountered storms. During a tumultuous journey, a few barrels of Bordeaux red wine spilled on the deck of a ship. The spilled wine mixed with neighboring salt crystals. Some discerning gourmets from Bordeaux then had the idea of making it their trade. And so was born this unique salt with red wine !
