Its name comes from ‘voa’, which in Malagasy means fruit, and ‘tsiperifery’ is the name of a plant. These are very rare peppers that are picked by hand by the natives of Madagascar from June to August.
Voatsiperifery grows wild in the tropical forests of southeastern Madagascar. Pepper vines can grow up to 10 meteres in height. Collecting is difficult and dangerous because the berries grow only on the tops of trees to get more sun. These peppers have a fruit aftertaste with strong herbal notes. A delicious companion for all your chocolate desserts.
