Round and red Wiri Wiri chili peppers are cayenne pepper relatives from Guyana. These peppers grow vertically, in warm and humid climates, on the edge of a rainforest. In shape, they are somewhat reminiscent of cherries, so they are often referred to as “cherry chili peppers.” The strong taste of Wiri Wiri pepper has a tomato aroma. Use in moderation – these are extremely spicy peppers that will enliven your stews, soups and sauces.

Cayenne pepper is one of the most famous chilies in the world and many species can be found among them, including Wiri Wiri pepper. Wiri Wiri chili peppers grow on the edge of a rainforest in a warm and humid climate. They belong to the species Capsicum Frutescens. Wiri Wiri hot peppers are very strong and have a sharpness of between 100,000 and 150,000 SHU (* SHU: “Skoville scale units”). It is sharper than red or green Jalapeno chilies, but similar to yellow Tabasco chili peppers. Wiri Wiri has amazing tomato aromas. Due to the extremely strong sharpness, use this pepper in moderation. It is perfect for seasoning stews, soups, fajitas and sauces and for flavoring olive oil.

Be careful not to rub your eyes or other sensitive areas of your body with these peppers.
