Wiri Wiri chili peppers grow on the edge of a rainforest in a warm and humid climate. They belong to the species Capsicum Frutescens. Wiri Wiri hot peppers are very strong and have a sharpness of between 100,000 and 150,000 SHU (* SHU: “Skoville scale units”). It is sharper than red or green Jalapeno chilies, but similar to yellow Tabasco chili peppers. Wiri Wiri has amazing tomato aromas. Due to the extremely strong sharpness, use this pepper in moderation. It is perfect for seasoning stews, soups, fajitas and sauces and for flavoring olive oil.
Be careful not to rub your eyes or other sensitive areas of your body with these peppers.
